The First Post - more to come...

So this is it...the beginning, the genesis, the dawn. As this is the first post, we'll just give some background: This is the story of Brent (current narrator), Rachel, and Baby (who surely someday will have a name...).

Rachel and I met on August 19, 2006...well, actually it was more like the 20th being it was around 2:15 a.m. I was out celebrating the birthday of a friend, Skootch, at Bailey's, a local bar & grill with many pool tables. Once the bar was to close at 2:00 in the morning, Rachel (then GM of Bailey's) attempted to escort the birthday party group out of the establishment...to no avail. After a short few minutes (to my recollection...Rachel says it was more like 25 minutes) I asked Rachel what she would do if I asked for her number; to which she replied she would give it to me if I was asking. So she gave it to me.

We had our first "date" on August 27, 2006. We met for brunch at Liberty Taproom in the Vista of Columbia. To me, it was a very relaxed good time, aside from Rachel being half asleep from working till 5:00a.m. the night before and me being half sick from what I thought was the ice tea I was drinking at the time...but other than that it was great!

And as "they" say...that was that, and here we are now. We have a wonderful house...well, it's wonderful when the AC unit in the attic isn't leaking water everywhere and ruining our drywall...but it is wonderful. And I love Rachel, and she tells me she loves me (I tend to believe her ;-)), and we're going to have a bouncing baby...
